Our Programs

Our Mission is to provide community development and supportive services that address social and economic needs of low income and vulnerable children and families within the Washington Park and greater Chicago southside community.

Coppin Food Service Programs:

Weekly pantry is open every Monday from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm. We average 100 clients serving approximately 400 people. We also provide boxes of food for families suffering from personal violence. They come through police department referrals.

Prior to the pandemic, we offered a weekly hot lunch program and the Boys & Girls program offered free lunch. We are in discussion with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to reinstate these programs as well.

STEAM:

Youth program for 13-18 year olds. This program is slow to start but with additional outreach it will build. June 2025 Sisters in STEM{(SIS}provided a summer program for 12-14 year old girls. It was sponsored by Northwestern University.

Coppin Closet:

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a volunteer program. They started working with migrants out of 2nd and 3rd police district. They are now housed in our lower level and distribute donated clothing, household items, diapers and furniture to those with needs in the community at large.

Work Force:

Angels of God Resource Center INC. Has a work force program housed in our facility. They provide work force training in vocational placement for youth 16-24 as well as assistance with SNAP recipients offering work site placement.
